Rental Requirements

LICENCE: All hirers must present a full driving license (held for at least 12 month), a valid passport and two additional forms of ID (i.e. utility bill, bank statement, etc). An International Licence issued in the UK is not acceptable.

AGE LIMITS: 21 for Standard Vehicles. 25+ for Prestige Sports Vehicles.

ADDITIONAL DRIVER: An extra £30.00 will be charged for an additional driver, no maximum charge. MUST be 21+. Additional drivers must present full UK driving licence and TWO forms of ID. (i.e. utility bill, bank statement, etc)

DEPOSIT/PAYMENT: UK Resident: Credit Card: (Mastercard, Visa, Amex) must be in driver's name.

Every vehicle on hire requires a deposit to secure the booking. Our insurance carries out an excess which is to be held whilst the vehicle is on hire, please contact us if unsure.

INFANT SEATS: Availability: Seat will be "on request" only. Unable to guarantee availability. Seat suitability: From 9 months to 4 years old. Cost: £10.00 per day, up to a maximum of £70, with an additional £50 refundable security deposit. For refund of the deposit customer MUST bring the seat back to the rental desk at check in, otherwise the £50 will be forfeited. Fitting of seats: Customers are required to fit seats.

Fueling: All vehicles leave with a full tank, you will be required to bring the vehicle back with the same amount or pay the surcharge. In event, that vehicles are delivered, fuel used is the sole responsibility of the hirer.

SECURITY SYSTEM: If the branch has the photographic equipment, then photographs of all drivers may be taken before the vehicle is rented out.

CANCELLATION POLICY: A minimum of 48 hours notice is required for cancellations. Cancellations made within 24 hours will be charged at 20% of the rental charge. Last minute cancellations will be charged at the full rate. Pearl Car Rental reserves the right to cancel bookings at our own discretion.

Fines/Penalties: Any parking/speeding fines are the sole liability of the hirer. We will pass all information on our hirers on to the relevant authorities for them to collect fees. Please note an administration fee will apply.

Permitted Use of Vehicle: The hirer may use the vehicle for the purpose of their business and for social domestic and pleasure purposes. The vehicles may not be used for any purposes for which they are not expressly designed. Further, the hirer will not use or permit the vehicles to be used for hire, driving tuition, towing, racing or pace-making, or for competing in any rally, or any other form of motor sport, track days, or for any illegal purpose whatsoever.

Mileage Allowance: The mileage allowance is 100 miles a day for Prestige Sports Vehicles, Excess mileage is as per the current Tariff of £2.00 per mile. The mileage allowance is 150 miles a day for standard vehicles, Excess mileage is as per the current Tariff of £1.00 per mile.

Condition of Vehicle and abuse of vehicle: The hirer undertakes to use the vehicle in a proper manner, and to check oil and coolant levels daily. The vehicle should be returned in a similar state of cleanliness, to which it was presented at commencement of hire, a valet charge will be made of £50 if the vehicle is returned in an unacceptable state. The hirer undertakes to drive the vehicle in a proper manner and adhere to the UK road laws. If we have reason to believe that the vehicle has been driven in a reckless manner, and, or excessively exceeded UK speed limits then the hirer may be liable to additional wear and tear charges. The hirer is also responsible for callout costs necessitated by the hirer’s negligence, e.g. running out of fuel, locking keys inside car etc

No-Smoking: Smoking is not permitted in the vehicles. A valet charge of £25 will be made if there is evidence the vehicle has been smoked in.

ACCIDENTS: Customer must complete an Accident Report Form at time of incident. These are provided with the car. Dependent on the circumstances, we reserve the right not to replace the vehicle.
